Committed Partners for Youth
Connecting youth to their community through mentoring! CPY is a non-profit agency representing mentor programs for at-risk youth in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon community. CPY serve all ages of youth through their partnerships with Eugene/Springfield elementary schools, middle schools, and the juvenile court system.
Youth are matched with caring volunteer adults who are trained to focus on positive reinforcement, trust-building, and the achievement of goals, by engaging youth in one-on-one outing and group adventures in the community.
Jane Higdon Memorial Fund
The Jane Higdon Memorial Fund is dedicated to the dreams and aspirations of Jane Higdon, who was tragically killed May 31, 2006 when she was struck by a truck while on a bicycle training ride on one of Oregon's beautiful rural roads. Donations made to the Jane Higdon Memorial Fund help encourage and empower girls and young women to pursue healthy and active lifestyles and academic excellence. In addition, the Fund will contribute to other non-profits that advocate and work for bicycling and pedestrian safety conditions in Lane County, Oregon.
CASA
(Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruit, train and support volunteers to advocate for children who have been abused and/or neglected. They work to ensure that the child's best interests are being met within the child protective service system. CASA volunteers provide consistency to the case and keep it moving until the child is in a safe permanent home.
Food for Lane County
Food for Lane County's mission is to eliminate hunger in the community by creating access to food. They accomplish this by soliciting, collecting, rescuing, growing, preparing and packaging food for distribution through a network of social service agencies and programs, and through public awareness, education and community advocacy.
The Science Factory
The Science Factory Children's Museum & Planetarium is dedicated to playful learning, scientific exploration and hands-on/minds-on activity for each and every visitor. They provide thousands of children the opportunity to explore their curiosity and creativity through the ever-changing exhibit hall, innovative educational programming, planetarium, computer laboratory, thematic special events, field trips and summer adventure science camps. |
