The 1st Annual Eugene Marathon Fast RunnerZ Corporate Team Challenge, held as part of the Eugene Marathon on May 4th, was a terrific event and great success for those who participated. In the end, $2,300 was raised for area non-profits and charities.

Three area businesses participated in the inaugural Corporate Challenge: Country Coach, Holt International, and The Register Guard. Between the three teams there were 25 individuals participating.

Two of the teams, Country Coach and The Register Guard, competed in the marathon division. The winning team was determined by combining the times of the top 4 finishers of each team. The Register Guard team won with a combined time of 15:35:33, beating Country Coach’s time of 18:08:05.

Holt International won the half marathon competition with a combined time of 9:38:59.

Country Coach won the Fund Raising competition by raising $2,000 for Food for Lane County.

Plans are now underway the Eugene Marathon Corporate Challenge 2009, being held at next year’s Eugene Marathon.

Participation in the Corporate Team Challenge is free for individuals and businesses. Check the Eugene Marathon website at www.eugenemarathon.com throughout the next year for more details. For more details on this year’s Corporate Team Challenge visit www.fastrunnerz.com.
